ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
The fine (and lost) art of intricate hand engraving is in full flower on both sides of this ultra-lovely Victorian locket from late 19th century Great Britain. The front is decorated with a lush hand-engraved floral design, while the reverse centers on an unengraved shield surrounded by highly detailed engraved geometric patterns. It opens to reveal a double compartment that displays a photo inscribed with "Yours March 1914" on one side and woven locks of hair on the other. A work of wearable artistry and a consummate keepsake in 18K yellow gold. The new chain measures 18 inches.
