ABOUT THIS BROOCH
There's a lot going on in this big, bold and beautiful Victorian bauble. Elaborately designed and hand fabricated in rich 18K yellow gold, circa 1875, the brooch features five seamlessly-set glowing dusky wine-red lobe garnets that create a high-profile dome around a pearl-centered star, all of which are surrounded by a quatrefoil frame accented with dark cobalt blue and white enamel enamel enwrapped with looping golden rope. This brooch measures 1 3/4 across. Condition note: enamel shows some wear commensurate with age.
