ABOUT THIS NECKLACE
Who knew driftwood could be so beautiful. Over a period of millions of years, fossilized driftwood from the Jurassic period became the glossy black gem that, today, we know as jet. It is used with striking effect to create this elegant cross--embellished at its terminals with hand-engraved 18K gold ornamental caps, all of which suspend from a newer, fine 18-inch cable chain. Hand fabricated, circa 1875. The top bead is most likely vulcanite and is original to the piece.
