A simply superb late-nineteenth-century oval locket. The obverse features a raised garter or buckle (symbolizing holding a loved one close) with beautiful turquoise blue enamel on a field of delicate hand-engraving. The reverse has an exquisitely hand-engraved Gothic quatrefoil pattern. At one time, the locket compartment held charming original photos; they have been removed so that you can replace them with loved ones of your own. Measures 1 1/8 inches in length by 7/8 inches in width.
