Victorian 'Madonna della Seggiola' Enamel Miniature Brooch
SKU
50-3-11011
ABOUT THIS BROOCH
The imagery of this fine late-19th Century Renaissance Revival gold and enamel brooch was inspired by the masterpiece Madonna della Seggiola (Madonna of the Chair) that hangs in the Palazzo Pitti in Florence, Italy, painted by the great Italian Renaissance painter, Raphael in the year 1514. The highly detailed, vivid enamel miniature is elegantly presented in a 14 karat gold richly dimensional frame. A solid pin on the back makes it a portable, wearable Italian masterwork, measuring a striking 3 3/4 inches long and 2 3/8 inches wide.
