ABOUT THESE EARRINGS

During the 19th century, these geometric flowers (poinsettias?) or starbursts were originally intended to be worn during a period of mourning. Now, however, the glossy black onyx rhombus shapes, set in gold detailed with milgrain edging, and accented with tiny gold spheres, go perfectly with almost anything--including a little black party dress. Consummate Victoriana, crafted in 14K gold, circa 1880.
