ABOUT THIS RING

Swoon! A spectacular splash of color and lots of sparkle emanate from the absolutely gorgeous--and immodestly proportioned--27.52 carat sunshiny yellow* sapphire that dazzles atop this opulent and strikingly designed Victorian revival statement ring. Held by stylized fleur-de-lys prongs, the stunning stone is accented, in bold contrast, by a lozenge-shaped cobalt blue enamel frame, embellished with gold details and four bright and lively old mine-cut diamonds, together weighing 1.00 carat. And why stop there? The shoulders are also decorated with blue and gold enamel, while subtle hand-engraved scrolls adorn the under gallery. Measuring 7/8 by just under 1 1/4 inches, it's just the right size to cause a stir whenever you wear it. Minor enamel chip (as world be expected after 70 years or so). *Most sapphires are heated to obtain this exquisite color; this one is unheated, meaning that traces of iron--that's right, iron--are responsible for its fabulous golden hue. Accompanied by a GIA gemological report. Hand fabricated in 14K gold, currently ring size 7.

About Victorian Jewelry

The eclectic Victorians didn’t limit themselves when it came to motifs and themes—if it struck their fancy, they turned it into jewelry. Sweet and sentimental with a distinct romantic streak, Victorian gems expanded upon their Georgian predecessors. The array of styles that blossomed (sometimes quite literally) during this era endure to this day.

Jewelry Care

As with anything of value, especially sentimental value, taking good care of your vintage and antique jewelry from Lang will enhance its beauty and extend its lifespan. We encourage you to have your jewelry checked and cleaned by us or by your trusted local jeweler every six months, to ensure that each piece is in good wearable condition with all gemstones in place. It’s not uncommon for stones to loosen over time, and it’s much easier to tighten a loose stone than to replace a lost one! As stated in our Repair Policy, we strongly recommend that you allow us to perform any repairs, since our jewelers are specialists in restoring vintage and antique jewelry.
