ABOUT THIS BROOCH
An array of jasper and agate inlays beautifully color this iconic Scottish brooch with a Celtic cross center. The pin harkens back to the mid-Victorian period when Queen Victoria herself popularized Scotland and all things Scottish after she purchased Balmoral Castle in 1848. We know this is an early piece (mid-19th century) because the pin-stem extends beyond the edge, a practice that was discontinued shortly thereafter. In excellent condition and an excellent choice as a kilt accent! (you have one, right?) Hand engraved and hand fabricated in silver.
